“Bethel”

on November 20, 2013

Today I wrapped up the book of Genesis. (I’ve been reading a day each time I have a chunk of time. So this is the second day and I am on day four of ninety.) It’s been really awesome. Today as I was reading I got the image of a city and “fire” – I thought that I was being told to paint Sodom and Gomorrah. That didn’t really make a lot of sense, but I am not going argue. I continued to read and the picture got “brighter” and when it was time to paint it I didn’t even think of the colors or the “idea” I really just went with the flow. I did realize as soon as I got my items out that I was not painting Sodom and Gomorrah, though I was unsure what I was going to paint.

When I was deep into the painting I realized it was Bethel – how lovely. The main prayer and focus was really just dedication to walking God’s road and being the best I we can no matter what our situation is. It’s a really happy painting, full of reverence for God’s promises and loyalty!
