Friday 5 ~ Reading is fun!

on February 21, 2014

Lou ♥ and I have been reading The Giver together. Mavis, darling! has been less than interested, which I think is a good thing now that we are getting more into it. We have several Goosebumps books on order so when those come that will be what Mavis, darling! and I read together. Anyway, The Giver is fantastic and while I was previewing books I came across several more books/series that I can’t wait to get into with the kids.the giver Reading is a funny thing for me. For reading to be relaxing I need it to be well written enough that I want to read it, challenging enough to my imagination that I see it full scale in my mind and yet amateur enough that I can stop “truly” thinking! Here is the beginning of our summer list I just can’t wait for!

  1. The Abandoned (New York Review Children’s Collection) by Paul Gallico
  2. The City of Ember: The First Book of Ember (Books of Ember) by Jeanne Duprau
  3. The Shadows: The Books of Elsewhere: Volume 1 by Jacqueline West
  4. A Drowned Maiden’s Hair by Laura Amy Schlitz
  5. Spell Hunter (Faery Rebels) by R. J. Anderson
